Her depth of knowledge of the ancient texts and their accompanying vocabulary, grammar, syntax, and idiomatic usages is of the highest order and qualifies her to be a skilled language teacher at the university level in dealing with the most difficult of texts. At the same time, she is excellent at adapting her teaching methods to the level of her students and so she also teaches at primary schools working with children. With Fani, I went within months from being someone who could barely scratch the surface of an ancient text to one who now works his way through Plato, Thucydides, and others with a degree of comfort that I scarcely could have imagined when I started with her. She selects excellent teaching materials, guides me through oral readings of the texts, corrects me as I go, patiently explains grammatical and syntactical principles, and follows up with pointers to great sources for additional study. By all this, I have hugely improved in a very short time. Though I still stumble, often and sometimes foolishly, that is because materials are hardly easy. But, whatever the stumbling, I continue to show noticeable improvement lesson-by-lesson. There is nothing more one might ask for from a skilled tutor and she is as good a guide as one might hope for.
