About Oaklyn
My journey in programming began with curiosity about how logical steps could create meaningful solutions, leading me to pursue a Master’s in Computer Science. Over the past 9 years, I have guided students of various skill levels in developing coding proficiency, structured thinking, and problem-solving confidence. My teaching emphasises clarity, stepwise instruction, and hands-on application to make programming both understandable and engaging.
I strive to create a supportive, interactive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment with solutions, and think critically. Lessons are structured with examples, exercises, and projects that make abstract concepts concrete and applicable. I emphasise reasoning, creativity, and practical application to ensure students gain both technical knowledge and confidence in coding.
Outside the classroom, I continue exploring new programming languages, technologies, and software development practices, which allows me to keep my teaching current and relevant. Seeing students progress from uncertainty to mastery, develop creative solutions, and gain self-confidence is deeply rewarding. My ultimate aim is to nurture curiosity, logical thinking, and lifelong learning skills in every student I teach, empowering them to thrive in programming and beyond.

Programming becomes accessible and enjoyable when students understand the relationship between logic, structure, and creative problem-solving. My lessons cover Python, Java, algorithms, data structures, and project-based learning, helping learners develop confidence and practical coding skills. I focus on step-by-step explanations, visual examples, and hands-on exercises that reinforce understanding and allow students to see the impact of their work in real time. Lessons are designed to encourage curiosity, experimentation, and active engagement.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s level. Beginners work on variables, loops, and basic logic with guided examples and exercises. Intermediate students focus on modular programming, functions, debugging, and small projects. Advanced learners tackle algorithm design, optimisation, APIs, larger projects, and preparation for exams or interviews. Every session includes reasoning tasks, practical applications, and immediate feedback to ensure consistent progress and skill building.
Programming lessons go beyond coding—they develop analytical thinking, structured reasoning, patience, and creative problem-solving skills that students can apply across disciplines. My goal is to help learners feel confident in their abilities, explore technology with curiosity, and develop a mindset that combines logic with creativity.
