About Makayla
I have given lessons on a volunteer basis throughout high school and college to gain experience. I help students to enhance their reading fluency when reading verbally and their reading comprehension. An increase in comprehensive skills leads to an increase in test grades. Increasing verbal fluency increases confidence. These two skills together are key to academic success for any student and the skills start while the children are young.

I have a BS in Psychology and a minor in Marriage and Family. Both of these include child development as an emphasis. I use one-on-one tutoring with personalized lesson plans geared to best benefit your child. As a student I have helped children with ADHD and autism with their reading through volunteer work. I value the use of visual aids in learning and enjoy incorporating fun activities with the readings.
