About Philippa
I am starting my degree in psychology in September. Meanwhile I have been tutoring friends and family to help them with their essay writing skills, particularly for psychology, religion, or ethics based subjects. I got an a* in A level religious studies, which includes ethics in the course. My main focus was Buddhism, but we covered other religions too. I also got a B in A level psychology, which is what I am continuing to study now. As well as a C in English literature at A level, and an A at English at GCSE, which has helped me profusely with essay and formal writing.

My method of teaching is quite structured; I want the student to know exactly what they’re learning that day and then we’ll take each topic step by step, explaining and practicing as we go. I think that a hands on approach is useful, one cannot expect to remember anything if they don’t use the knowledge they’ve acquired. Every psychology or religious studies course is slightly different, so I would approach to lessons by finding out the students needs; what they have covered and what they have yet to understand.
