I am an A-Level Psychology tutor with over half a decade of experience who works with students from different countries and academic backgrounds. My approach is concept-first, exam-driven. Psychology becomes difficult when students memorise without understanding, so I focus on making theories, studies, and research methods clear, logical, and connected. Once the concept is solid, I train students to apply it exactly the way examiners expect, especially in essays and structured questions.
I break complex topics into simple frameworks, use real-life examples to make ideas stick, and repeatedly link content back to mark schemes and examiner language so students know how to write, not just what to write.
A typical lesson is structured and efficient:
-Quick review of previous content or exam questions
-Clear explanation of the topic using diagrams, examples, and comparisons
-Guided practice with exam-style questions
-Step-by-step breakdown of how to structure answers for full marks
-Targeted feedback and clear improvement points
-Lessons are adjusted based on whether the student needs concept clarity, essay practice, or exam confidence.
Most tutors either teach content or exam technique — I focus on both at the same time. I don’t waste time with generic explanations or unnecessary theory. Everything is tied back to grades, examiner expectations, and common student mistakes.
