About Evan

As a Purdue University College of Science graduate with degrees in Biology and Philosophy, I specialize in tutoring high school chemistry and freshman to sophomore level collegiate biology. I focus on replacing rote memorization with true conceptual understanding to help students master advanced coursework.

Why My Approach Works:

1. Proven Track Record: I graduated from Purdue University with a 3.80 Biology Major GPA and a 3.94 GPA in upper-level courses, earning consecutive Semester Honors and Dean's List honors from 2023 to 2026.

2. Clear Communication: My background in Philosophy enhances logic and critical thinking, while my current profession as a patient roomer and extracurricular experience with the National Organization for Rare Disorders trained me to break down complex medical and scientific pathways into digestible, accessible narratives.

3. Studying Autonomy: I provide foundational tools and structured review techniques so students can succeed at any and all STEM subjects.

For premeds I offer advice on how to navigate their undergraduate journey so they stand out to med schools when they apply.

My lessons are meant for students to truly understand concepts and not just memorize discrete facts that will be forgotten.

Each lesson will include content review for building a foundation of understanding, completing homework assignments after to directly apply that new knowledge, and additional practice questions to make sure that knowledge sticks long term for upcoming exams.

For topics that students particularly struggle to remember, flashcards will be made for them to review periodically through spaced repetition.

This means students are only spending extra time on those subjects they struggle with instead of wasting time on subjects they already know well.
