• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I've always believed that biology is the ideal field for combining curiosity with practical applications. Early in my academic career, I began researching the topic, but when I discovered how cells interact, adapt, and occasionally malfunction, my curiosity grew. It was like discovering the blueprints of life to comprehend these processes.
  I am currently pursuing a PhD with a focus on stem cells and cancer biology as a result of my curiosity, which inspired me to pursue further education in the life sciences. My dedication to this field has been reinforced by working closely with subjects like cellular signaling, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic approaches. The more I learn, the more I see how much biology influences innovation, health, and medicine; this ongoing discovery is what keeps me enthusiastic about biology.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My true passion has always been teaching. I enjoy simplifying difficult concepts and assisting students in having that moment of clarity when everything makes sense. Over the years, I've come to realize that teaching allows me to share my enthusiasm for biology in addition to reinforcing my own understanding.
  My motivation is my mother, who has been a teacher for as long as i've known her, got this passion from her.

• How does your work help society?

  Through my research in stem cells and cancer, I contribute to understanding diseases and improving future treatments. And through teaching, I help students build strong scientific foundations so they can grow into confident learners and future professionals. Both together feel meaningful because they support better healthcare and a better-informed society.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My biggest role model is my mom. She’s a teacher, and growing up, I saw how much patience, clarity and compassion she brought to her students. Watching her made me value both learning and teaching. Her dedication inspires the way I approach my research and the way I teach my own students today.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I like to play chess, swim, and draw when I'm not teaching. Swimming helps me unwind, drawing allows me to express my creativity, and chess keeps my mind active. My routine is balanced and I stay energized by these activities.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  "I just don't think science is for me," a student who was having trouble with a fundamental biology concept told me during one of my early tutoring sessions. I used a brief sketch to explain the subject in a different way, and all of a sudden they understood. "This is the first time biology felt easy," they concluded. Or one with my sister, she calls me the best teacher in the whole world, not even my mother gets that title, these are some things which makes teaching for me truly alive.
