As a dedicated healthcare professional with over 6 years of experience in paramedicine and nursing, as well as 2 years as a Cardiac Physiologist, I am deeply committed to sharing my knowledge and expertise with others. Having worked as an Acute Care Paramedic and Registered Nurse, I understand the complexities and challenges of these careers and know the importance of a strong foundational understanding combined with practical skills. In addition to my clinical experience, I have completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Physiology, which has further enhanced my knowledge and expertise. As an academic sessional tutor at QUT in 2024, I gained hands-on experience helping students achieve their academic goals, particularly in the fields of nursing, paramedicine, and clinical physiology. This experience reinforced my passion for teaching and confirmed my commitment to creating a supportive, engaging, and effective learning environment for all my students. About the lesson

I take a flexible and student-centered approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the individual needs and goals of the student. My teaching methodology combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical, real-world application to ensure that concepts are not only understood but can also be applied effectively in professional settings. I believe that active engagement and practical learning are essential to mastering complex topics, especially in fields like Cardiac Physiology, Paramedicine, and Nursing. In terms of teaching techniques, I employ a variety of methods to ensure each student receives the support they need. One of my core strategies is active learning, where I encourage students to engage with the material through discussions, problem-solving exercises, and case studies that reflect real-life scenarios. This allows students to connect theory with practice, making the material more meaningful and easier to retain. I also prioritize conceptual understanding, ensuring that students grasp the core principles before moving on to more advanced topics. This helps build a solid foundation that students can build on as they progress. To enhance practical skills, I integrate real-world examples from my own experience as an Acute Care Paramedic, Nurse, and Cardiac Physiologist. This helps students relate the material to their future careers, making it more applicable and relevant. Lastly, I adapt my teaching methods to each student’s learning style, using a combination of visual aids, hands-on demonstrations, and problem-solving activities to help them succeed. The typical length of a tutoring session can vary depending on the needs of the student and the focus of the lesson. Generally, sessions last between 1 to 2 hours, but I am flexible and can adjust the length based on the student's requirements. Some sessions may need extra time for in-depth discussions or practice, while others may be more concise, focusing on specific areas of difficulty. With a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Paramedic Science, along with over 5 years of experience as an Acute Care Paramedic and 3 years as a Registered Nurse in Perioperative Care, I bring a wealth of hands-on knowledge to my tutoring. In addition, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Physiology and have worked for the past 2 years as a Cardiac Physiologist. In 2024, I had the opportunity to tutor as an Academic Sessional at the Queensland University of Technology, where I honed my ability to explain complex medical concepts in an accessible and engaging way. Although my current schedule has limited my availability to continue this role this semester, my experience ensures that students receive a high-quality learning experience. In addition to regular lessons, I am available to help with assignment preparation, exam review, and revision sessions. Whether you need support understanding specific topics, guidance on writing assignments, or focused preparation for upcoming exams, I offer tailored assistance to ensure you succeed.
