About Chloe
I studied at Durham University, graduating in 2021 with a BA in Classics. My academic focus is Latin and Roman history, with a particular interest in golden age poetry. I then studied for a PGCE at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. I achieved this in summer of 2022 and I currently work as a secondary school teacher in Leeds. I have 7+ years of tutoring experience and really enjoy teaching students one-to-one. Please feel free to message with any enquiries!
My rates start from £25/hr for primary students, and £30-35/hr for secondary.

With Latin, vocabulary is key. I will usually start lessons going over key vocabulary for the day, using derivatives and games to help the words stick. I use a mixture of comprehension, grammar and translation questions when looking at passages, scaffolded to ensure confidence.
For Classics, essay practice is the key to success. Covering themes can be useful, but being able to write about them successfully is the challenge which I help students to reach.
For English, I enjoy planning lessons around a student's interests. This could be reading newspaper articles about their favourite football team, writing a story about their pet or answering grammar questions based on films and television. This is the best way to engage students and I pride myself on students coming away from my lessons with a love of the subject.
