About the lesson

My tutoring is structured, supportive and tailored to each student’s goals. I use evidence-based literacy strategies, explicit teaching and step-by-step scaffolding to help learners build confidence in reading, writing, speaking and listening. For IELTS students, lessons focus on band score improvement through targeted writing feedback, speaking practice with real test questions, vocabulary building and clear strategies for each section of the exam. I break down complex tasks into manageable steps and provide models, sentence frames and guided practice so students know exactly how to improve.

A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes. We begin with a short diagnostic or review, followed by explicit teaching of a key skill (for example, Task 2 essay structure, speaking fluency techniques or academic vocabulary). Students then practise with real IELTS or academic materials while I provide immediate feedback and correction. Each lesson ends with clear next steps and optional practice to consolidate learning.

I am a qualified Australian teacher with five years of experience in special education and mainstream classrooms since 2019. My background in inclusive education means I am highly skilled at adapting lessons for different learning styles, supporting anxious learners and helping students who have struggled with English in the past. I specialise in literacy development, EAL support and structured writing instruction.

My lessons are suitable for adult and secondary students preparing for IELTS, EAL learners who want to improve their academic English, and anyone who needs support with writing, grammar, vocabulary or speaking confidence. I work particularly well with students who want clear guidance, measurable progress and a patient, encouraging learning environment.
