About Caitlin

I’m a qualified Biology and Science teacher with five years of teaching and tutoring experience, and I hold an honours degree in Immunology. Over that time, I’ve supported pupils to make significant progress, including helping students move from failing grades to achieving solid passes.

I’ve always enjoyed helping pupils make sense of topics that initially feel complicated or overwhelming, and seeing their confidence grow as things begin to click.

I aim to be approachable, patient and encouraging, and to create a space where pupils feel comfortable asking questions and saying when something doesn’t make sense. My goal is not just to help pupils improve their marks, but to help them feel more confident and capable in Biology.

About the lesson

As a qualified Biology and Science teacher with five years of teaching and tutoring experience, I bring the same structured, supportive approach I use in the classroom to one-to-one tuition. I also hold an honours degree in Immunology, giving me a strong academic background in Biology as well as experience teaching it.

My lessons are tailored to the individual pupil. I focus on identifying where their understanding or confidence is breaking down, explaining difficult concepts in a way that makes sense to them, and then using questioning and exam-style practice to help them apply what they have learnt.

Sessions are usually one hour and can focus on anything from strengthening course knowledge to revision, past papers and exam technique. I teach National 5 Biology, Higher Biology, Higher Human Biology and Advanced Higher Biology.
