About Catherine

Hello! My name is Catherine, and I am a native English speaker who speaks both French and Spanish. I am also a qualified secondary school teacher of both those languages! In 2018, I graduated from Exeter University with a 2:1 BA French and Spanish degree, having enjoyed 4 years of study which included a year working as an English Language Teacher at a school in Madrid. I then spent two years working as a Teaching Assistant at a primary school in London where I loved having the opportunity to work alongside young children. I am now a qualified French and Spanish teacher, having completed my Secondary PGCE in Modern Languages with St Mary's University in Twickenham, London. I have been teaching at an Ofsted outstanding secondary school in London since September 2021. I teach up to GCSE in both languages, and have been tutoring online since March 2021. I am a positive, supportive, patient and energetic teacher who completely understands the trials of learning a Modern Foreign Language from scratch. Please do get in touch - I would love to help!

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to meet your requirements. I use an online whiteboard which allows us to see and edit the same materials, which is excellent for practising the listening, reading, writing and speaking skills assessed at GCSE level. Perfect! Catherine is an excellent tutor. My daughter struggled with French after not connecting with her school teacher. Although it's only been a month, I've already seen an improvement thanks to Catherine. Her love of the French language is starting to rub off!
