About Nicolene
With over 30 years of teaching experience and more than five years of successful online tutoring, I bring a calm, knowledgeable, and supportive approach to every lesson. I believe that all children are equal and capable of success when taught with patience, structure, and encouragement. I offer structured yet nurturing private tutoring in English and Mathematics for Grade 1–7 learners, with a strong focus on building confidence, understanding, and strong academic foundations. My teaching approach is learner-centred and personalised, adapting each lesson to the learner’s pace, needs, and learning style.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and can explain concepts clearly in both languages when needed, which is especially helpful for bilingual learners. A typical lesson is calm, engaging, and focused, beginning with identifying gaps, followed by clear explanations, guided practice, and positive reinforcement.
My lessons are ideal for Grade 1–7 learners, including those who are struggling, lack confidence, or need extra support beyond the classroom. Parents can expect a supportive learning environment, clear goals, and steady progress.
