About Carol

Hello! I’m Carol. I was born and raised in China and earned my degree from a Teachers University there. My love for the Mandarin language began early, thanks to an inspiring primary school teacher whose beautiful pronunciation and passion for teaching left a lasting impression on me. Her influence helped shape my own path — I was selected as the lead speaker for my middle school’s radio station, where I read news, poetry, and stories to over 1,000 students during lunchtime for six consecutive years.

One of my greatest joys is helping others speak Mandarin clearly, confidently, and beautifully. I believe that language is not just a tool for communication, but also a bridge to culture and connection.

In addition to teaching, I’m an enthusiastic language learner myself. I’ve taught myself Cantonese, Japanese, German and Italian. I find joy and fulfilment in the challenges and rewards of language learning, and I bring that same enthusiasm to my teaching. It always bring immense satisfaction to see my students to improve and succeed on their language journey.

Hi, I’m Carol! I provide online Mandarin Chinese lessons for students of all ages and levels. Every lesson is customized to suit your starting point, interests, pace, and goals — whether you're learning for school, travel, work, or personal growth. Lessons typically run for 1 to 1.5 hours.

My teaching style is conversational, interactive, and enjoyable. I focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, using a mix of materials like textbooks, visuals, audio clips, and games to keep things engaging. I believe learning a language should feel natural and fun — not pressured.

I’m known for being patient, encouraging, and humorous. I aim to help you speak Mandarin confidently, clearly, and with cultural understanding.
