About Chel

I began teaching in 2015 when I undertook an internship in Intensive English at the Institute of Humanitarian Development. Since then I have taught at various institutions in the UK where I have conducted lessons in a wide variety of subjects. I began teaching online in 2018 and enjoy the flexibility it allows me and the opportunity it provides to meet people from all over the world! I have lived in 6 countries myself and have had to adjust to different cultures and languages. As a language learner, I know what it is like to feel lost, confused or overwhelmed. I also know how much of a daunting task it is to learn a language and I can relate to that. This makes my approach more practical and more helpful.

About the lesson

I have worked extensively preparing students for exams such as the IELTS and Cambridge exams and have plenty of happy students who have achieved the band score or grade they wanted- or higher! My main goal when it comes to these exams is understanding the student's strengths and creating a plan which builds on those while working on any weaknesses. Most classes will be focused on the speaking and writing aspects of the exams with homework set for reading and listening.

We practiced speaking and she had plenty of exam tips on how I could enhance my grade as well as my English skills. She also helped me with my essay writing and broke down the steps in making a strong written argument.
