About Rashmi
I have a BSc degree and PGCE in mathematics and worked as a secondary school maths teacher teaching GCSE, IGCSE and A-level students. I am now mainly working as a tutor as I find one-to-one tutoring more effective and rewarding. I am passionate about pupils learning maths and becoming confident in its use.
I have also passed professional accountancy exams and can teach book keeping and accountancy.

Grasp of foundations is very important and no matter what level or ability I teach, I always go back to reinforce it. I place emphasis on written methodology and enhancing memory techniques. With a step-by-step approach, students can be better prepared for exams. l like to make topics more appealing by linking them to real life. I have a friendly and sympathetic but firm approach. lessons include review and systematic practice with the use of visual aids.
I teach techniques to summarise learning and encourage the use of mind maps. The lesson will be typically an hour where the first 10 minutes is a quick review, followed by the targeted exercises on the chosen topic.
