About Nina
My name is Nina, and I am a qualified Physician Associate from Bournemouth, now living in Bristol!
I completed my BSc in Medical Sciences with Neuroscience at the University of Exeter, and went on to do my MSc in Physician Associate Studies at Bournemouth University. I am registered with the Royal College of Physicians' Faculty of Physician Associates, and am currently working in a GP practice where I run my own clinics. Having fairly recently completed my PA national exams (early 2023), I know how tough it can be revising for OSCE exams. The only effective way to do this is to practice practice practice - but this can be difficult if you don't have anyone to practice with, or you do but they're not good at giving feedback on your technique.
That's where I come in! I'm hoping to pass on some of my knowledge, tips, and tricks to help you succeed at your OSCE exams!

I can provide you with tailored OSCE scenarios and mark schemes, allowing you to practice with me and get real-time feedback on your diagnoses, management plans, communication skills and more.
My tutoring would be suitable for either medical or PA students, since our OSCE exams are the same format. The content medical students need to know may differ slightly, but it will be largely the same - and the communication skills you need to practice will likely also be the same.
Typically our sessions would be made up of OSCE stations, where I will provide you with a station brief and 2 minutes to prepare, followed by 8 minutes to complete your station with me acting as both the patient actor and examiner. I will then give you constructive feedback and tips, including going through the mark scheme to see where you could pick up extra marks. Prior to our sessions we can discuss the topics/skills you needs the most practice with, and I will tailor the stations accordingly.
Examples of the OSCE stations we can practice together include, but are not limited to: history-taking (including giving a differential diagnosis or management plan), explaining a diagnosis, drug counselling, motivational interviewing, breaking bad news, and SBAR handover. More practical stations such as examinations and procedures are difficult to practice virtually, but we can talk these through and I can provide my tips and tricks.
