About Lowri
Teaching has always been my dream, though as a child, I doubted it was possible due to my own academic challenges. I struggled in school and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia, which helped me realize that learning isn't one-size-fits-all. This understanding drove me to explore a variety of learning techniques, discovering what worked best for me.
Since becoming a qualified teacher, supporting children who need extra help has become a core part of my teaching philosophy. Having faced similar struggles, I can empathize with students who feel discouraged, helping them see they are not alone. I specialize in tailoring lessons to each child’s unique needs and abilities, ensuring they feel supported and confident in their progress. My goal is always to help children overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential..

My teaching approach is tailored to each child's unique learning style, ensuring that lessons are personalized to meet their individual needs. I incorporate a wide range of resources, including games, worksheets, and iPads, to keep lessons engaging and interactive. Every session is designed to be both enjoyable and goal-oriented, with clear, achievable targets set within the time frame. To motivate and encourage progress, I use various reward systems such as stickers, stamps, and prizes, which children can redeem whenever they choose. This helps create a positive and supportive learning environment.
The typical length of session is between 45 minutes to 1 hour.
With over six years of experience working with children, my journey in education has been both diverse and enriching. During my undergraduate degree, I completed numerous work placements, which solidified my passion for teaching. After graduation, I took a year off to further immerse myself in education, gaining valuable hands-on experience as a teaching assistant. This experience deepened my understanding of classroom dynamics and child development, leading me to pursue a Primary PGCE. Since then, I have been working as a supply teacher for nearly three years and am now entering my second year as a private tutor.
