About Martina
I am a passionate and patient primary school teacher from New Zealand who loves helping children discover confidence in reading and writing. I enjoy creating positive learning experiences where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Over the years, I have worked with young learners in both New Zealand and Japan, which has strengthened my ability to connect with children from different backgrounds and learning needs. I am particularly passionate about early literacy because I believe strong reading foundations open the door to lifelong learning and success. I teach because I genuinely enjoy seeing children grow, gain confidence, and feel proud of their progress.

I provide structured, engaging, and supportive lessons tailored to each learner’s needs and goals. As a qualified primary school teacher from New Zealand with a BA in Linguistics and English Language Teaching, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary), and training in the Better Start Literacy Approach (BSLA), I specialise in early literacy development. My lessons focus on building strong foundations in phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing. I work with learners aged 5–10 and use a warm, interactive teaching style that builds confidence and encourages active participation. Each session is carefully planned to be both enjoyable and effective, helping students make steady and meaningful progress.
