Niamh is a respected tutor in our community. They are highly recommended for their commitment and the quality of their lessons. An excellent choice to progress with confidence.
About Niamh
I am a qualified primary school teacher who is passionate about helping children feel confident and capable in math. When I was in primary school, I had a math teacher who challenged me at the level that was right for me and took the time to understand how I learned. As someone with dyslexia, I saw first-hand the difference this made to my confidence and understanding.
That experience has shaped the teacher I want to be. I aim to meet every child where they are, find approaches that work for them and help them progress at their own pace. Whether we are working on problem-solving, a particular area of math or building confidence with the basics, I want every child to feel supported, capable and proud of their progress.

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over three years of teaching experience, and I have worked with children in a variety of educational settings, including one-to-one teaching in schools and providing home-based individual lessons.
I believe math should be something children can understand, enjoy and feel confident doing. My aim is to make math fun, engaging and accessible, while helping children develop a positive attitude towards the subject. I meet each child where they are in their learning and build from there, rather than expecting every child to learn in the same way or at the same pace.
My lessons are tailored to each child’s individual needs, interests and learning style. I use interactive activities, games, practical examples and different approaches to help children understand concepts in a way that makes sense to them. I place a strong focus on building confidence alongside developing their mathematical skills, so that children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again.
Lessons can be 30 minutes or one hour, depending on the child’s age, needs and attention span. Whether your child needs support with a particular area of math, would benefit from extra practice, or simply needs help building their confidence, I will adapt each lesson to suit them.
My lessons are suitable for primary school children of all ages and abilities. My goal is to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where children can learn at their own pace, enjoy their lessons and leave each session feeling more confident in their math.

We’ve had such a positive experience with Niamh. She has been brilliant at helping our child with their social skills and confidence, and we’ve genuinely noticed a difference.
Niamh has a very natural way with children. She makes them feel at ease and never puts pressure on them. She takes things at their pace and finds ways to help them understand and manage situations that they might otherwise find difficult.
Over time, we’ve seen our child become much more confident in themselves and more comfortable socially, which has been lovely to see. It’s the kind of support that makes a real difference, not just during the sessions but in everyday life too.
We’re really grateful to Niamh for all her support and would definitely recommend her to any parent looking for some extra help with their child’s confidence and social skills. We honestly couldn’t recommend Niamh highly enough. She was such a fantastic support for our child during the transition from primary school to secondary school.
She really met our child at their level, worked at their pace and took the time to understand what they needed. She helped build their confidence, understanding and belief in themselves, and made the whole transition feel much less daunting.
Our child has now moved on to secondary school, but we’re still in regular contact with Niamh and go back to her for sessions, advice and support whenever we feel it would help. That really says it all about how much we value her.
Niamh is warm, patient, encouraging and genuinely understands children. We’re so grateful for everything she has done and continues to do. She’s been a really important part of our child’s journey, and we’d absolutely recommend her to any parent.Niamh has been fantastic with my son. He needed a bit of extra support across a few different subjects, particularly because he can find it difficult to concentrate when he’s faced with lots of formal text and traditional schoolwork.
What I love about Niamh is that she doesn’t just stick to what’s in the book. She takes the time to find out what interests him and uses those interests to make the work more engaging and meaningful for him. She’s really good at finding alternative ways to explain things and, as a result, he’s much more willing to engage and give things a go.
She has such a lovely way of bringing out the best in him, and it’s been brilliant to see him enjoying learning more and feeling more confident in himself. We’re so grateful to her.I honestly couldn’t recommend Niamh highly enough. She worked with my daughter on both Maths and Irish and made such a difference to her confidence.
Niamh met her exactly where she was at and, rather than just using the usual teaching methods, she adapted everything to suit how my daughter learned best. She was so patient, encouraging and understanding.
Seeing my daughter move into her next class feeling happy, settled and confident instead of lost has meant so much to us. The change in her has been amazing. We’re so grateful to Niamh and would absolutely recommend her to any parent.View more recommendations
