About Nafisa

Hello, I’m Nafisa, a passionate and experienced primary educator with over 15 years of experience teaching and leading in both inner-London and international schools.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and learning needs. I have developed particular expertise in SEND, EAL, inclusion and targeted intervention, and I have supported many children to overcome barriers to learning, close gaps in their knowledge and achieve outcomes they can be proud of.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing the moment when a child begins to believe in themselves. Sometimes a child does not need more pressure or more work—they need someone to understand how they learn, identify what is holding them back and find an approach that makes learning feel achievable again.

My experience as both a teacher and school leader has given me a strong understanding of how children learn, how progress is assessed and how effective intervention can make a real difference. I bring this experience into every session, while making sure lessons remain positive, engaging and tailored to the individual child.

I pride myself on being patient, encouraging and approachable. I want children to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again. Building confidence and independence is just as important to me as improving academic skills.

Whether your child needs additional support with English or Maths, help to catch up, targeted intervention, support with SEND or EAL, or simply a confidence boost, I aim to provide a safe and supportive online environment where they can make progress at their own pace.

About the lesson

Every child learns differently, which is why I take a personalised approach to tutoring and learning support. My aim is not simply to help children complete their homework, but to understand how they learn, identify any gaps or barriers to progress, and help them develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I have over 15 years of experience working in primary education across inner-London and international schools, including teaching and leadership roles. I have particular expertise in SEND, EAL, inclusion, targeted intervention and supporting children to make meaningful progress.

I provide online lessons for all ages and children worldwide. Before beginning lessons, I like to understand the child’s current level, their strengths and areas for development, as well as any concerns their parent or school may have. This allows me to tailor sessions to their individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. This is conducted by an online interaction and meeting with the parents.

My lessons are typically 60 minutes and combine clear teacher modelling, guided practice, questioning, discussion, retrieval and activities designed to reinforce understanding. I adapt my teaching style, resources and pace depending on the child, while ensuring that sessions remain engaging and purposeful.
Alongside developing academic skills in English and Maths, I place a strong emphasis on building confidence. For children who have struggled with a particular area of learning, developing the belief that they can succeed is often just as important as developing the skill itself.

As a KS1 specialist I support primary-aged children, including children who would benefit from additional catch-up, targeted intervention, confidence building or preparation for the transition into a new year group.

My goal is simple: to help every child understand their learning, recognise their strengths and make progress with greater confidence and independence.

1:1 Learning Support £45 per hour:
Personalised support for children who need:
-Catch-up support Maths or English intervention
-Reading development
-Writing support
-SATs preparation
-Confidence building
-Support with SEND/EAL needs
-Help transitioning between year groups
-Additional consolidation outside school

Small group session “Learn with friends!" - Maximum 4 children per hour.
£35 per child.
