About Lara
I am a qualified psychologist with a strong academic foundation in psychology and a genuine interest in helping students understand and engage with the subject. I know that psychology can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when students are faced with large volumes of theory, complex terminology and the expectation to apply concepts critically rather than simply recall them.
My aim as a tutor is to make psychology feel more accessible. I explain concepts clearly, break difficult material into manageable parts and use practical examples to help students connect theory to real-world situations. I also place a strong emphasis on developing the critical thinking and application skills that are essential for succeeding at university level.
I offer support with psychology course content, exam and test preparation, essay and assignment planning, academic writing, research methodology and understanding psychological theories and models. Lessons are adapted to the individual student, so we can focus specifically on the areas in which you need the most support.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging and structured. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and working through concepts they may not yet fully understand. My goal is not simply to help you prepare for your next assessment, but to help you build confidence in your ability to understand and apply psychology independently.

As a qualified psychologist, I bring both academic knowledge and practical insight to my tutoring. My approach is supportive, structured and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I focus on helping students genuinely understand psychological theories and concepts rather than simply memorising information.
My lessons are interactive and practical. I use real-world examples to make complex concepts easier to understand and help students develop the critical thinking and application skills needed for assignments, tests and examinations. A typical lesson will include discussing areas the student is struggling with, explaining key concepts in a clear and accessible way, working through examples or questions together, and identifying areas for further revision.
I can also support students with academic writing, structuring psychology essays, understanding research methodology, preparing for assessments and developing effective study techniques.
My lessons are primarily aimed at undergraduate Psychology students, although I can tailor sessions to suit different levels of knowledge and specific academic needs.
I am proficient in English and able to teach lessons in English.
