About Zahir

As a qualified teacher with QTS and two years of classroom teaching experience, I understand the challenges students can face when learning science. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop independent learning skills and achieve their potential. My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop a secure understanding of each topic independently, while providing the scaffolding, guidance and support they need to succeed. Rather than simply memorising information, I encourage students to understand the concepts behind what they are learning and develop the confidence to apply their knowledge in both classroom activities and examinations.

I am currently in my second year as a qualified teacher with QTS, teaching Biology as my specialism at GCSE (KS4) and A-Level (KS5), alongside Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3. During my teacher training I also gained experience teaching Chemistry and Physics at KS4, allowing me to support students across a range of scientific subjects.

Before each lesson, I will ask you which topics you would like to focus on. This allows me to prepare relevant resources, worksheets and activities tailored to your individual needs. Lessons can focus on revisiting challenging concepts, addressing misconceptions, strengthening subject knowledge or practising exam-style questions to develop exam technique.

A typical lesson will last 60 minutes, providing enough time to review prior knowledge, explore the chosen topic and apply what you have learned through targeted questions and activities. Lessons can be adapted to suit each student's ability, confidence and learning goals.

I offer both online tuition and in-person lessons at my home in Northwood, where I can provide printed resources and tailored activities to support your learning. The exact address will be shared privately through messages once arrangements have been discussed.
