About Emma

¡Hola! I'm Emma, a native Spanish speaker from Spain and a qualified Early Childhood and Primary Education teacher. I currently live in Melbourne, where I also teach Spanish.

My teaching journey has taken me from Spain to the United States and now Australia. During my time in the US, I worked in a primary school teaching Spanish to children while also teaching Spanish online to adults. I currently teach Spanish face-to-face in Melbourne to adults from different countries, cultures and language backgrounds.

I hold two university degrees in Education, as well as additional specialisations in Speech and Language support and Special Education. My training and experience have taught me that no two students learn in exactly the same way, which is why patience, encouragement and adapting to each individual are at the heart of my teaching.

I teach both children and adults, from complete beginners learning their very first words to students who want to build their confidence and communicate more naturally in everyday situations.

For me, learning a language isn't about memorising endless rules, it's about being able to actually use it. I love seeing my students go from thinking “I don't speak Spanish” to realising that they can already understand, read and say much more than they expected.

About the lesson

What if you could start using Spanish from your very first lesson?

That's exactly my goal.

I don't want you to memorise endless vocabulary lists or grammar rules and then wonder, “Okay… but how do I actually use this?”

In my lessons, everything we learn has a purpose. You'll learn Spanish in context, so you understand not only WHAT to say, but HOW and WHEN to use it in real life. From day one, you'll start learning useful words, expressions and sentences that you can actually take outside the lesson and use in your everyday life.

And your lessons won't look exactly like anyone else's.

I build them around YOU, your goals, your hobbies and the things you genuinely enjoy. Love reading? Let's work with a book. Love a good TV series or movie? Let's bring it into our lessons. Love music? We'll use songs. Planning a trip? Let's practise the conversations you'll actually need.

Depending on your interests and level, we can learn through real conversations, games, role-play, songs, stories, books, movies, TV series, visual materials and everyday situations.

Of course we'll learn vocabulary and grammar, but always with one question in mind: how can you actually USE this?

Complete beginner? You're absolutely welcome! You don't need to know any Spanish before your first lesson. We'll take it step by step, and you'll start using Spanish from the very beginning. I'll also teach you strategies to understand Spanish without feeling that you have to translate every single word.

For children, I use the same personalised approach through play, stories, songs, movement, visual materials and their own interests, creating an active and enjoyable environment where Spanish becomes something they experience and use, not just something they study.

Lessons are 60 minutes long and are adapted to your age, level, pace and goals.
