About Emily
For three years, I delivered the primary school curriculum in a mainstream London school, teaching Year 5 and 6, in preparation for their SATs exams. I enjoy creating engaging classroom environments that allow students to acquire knowledge and rehearse their skills. Additionally, I have two years of experience teaching the secondary exam curriculum and have expertise in revision techniques and exam skills. Having worked in schools, I know the challenges students face, can anticipate misconceptions, and can focus on common areas where learning needs to be reinforced.

My passion is teaching English, having previously created engaging curricula in secondary and primary schools. I am trained as a UK primary school teacher and have tutored students to take their Eleven Plus exams (grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, and comprehension).
Additionally, I have taught English in secondary schools, focusing on GCSE and A-Level content to prepare students for their English Literature and Language exam papers (AQA and Cambridge IGCSE).
Previously, I wrote briefing papers, research papers, and online content for Parliamentary committees while working in the field of policy and communications. I can offer proofreading services, as well as support with essays or creative writing.
My teaching background resides in Primary and Special Educational Needs, meaning that an inclusive classroom environment is paramount to my teaching. I have experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Speech and Language Difficulties (SPLD), and Global Delay. I can adapt lessons, materials, and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
I also have a passion for teaching English as a foreign language, being TEFL certified and teaching students online Business English.
