About Rebecca

I have taught for over 10 years in primary schools. I have specialised in that time in Special Educational Needs as well as leading reading and writing for several schools.

I left to complete my Masters in Psychology and can also help children with any social, emotional or personal development.

I loom forward to helping children at this fundamental stage of development.

About the lesson

Hello,

I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher turned tutor who has taught in the state and independent sectors and well as abroad. I also have held management roles.

I am an approachable, dedicated and patient tutor who thoroughly enjoys supporting students at every stage of their learning. I have a sound knowledge of all the curriculums and know what is expected of children in all primary school subjects and year groups. I am also a special needs consultant with a psychology masters.

My approach to teaching is always catered to the individual. What works for some students will not work for others and so I am extremely adaptable and flexible to the need of each learner. Work with me can be play based or structured depending on your child's needs and your goals which I will be able to assess for you.

Early education can be challenging for a variety of reasons which may mean children need support in certain areas to reach their full potential. Depending on the subject and the child I offer a variety of games, activities, lessons and test papers. I am able to give tailored homework if required to plug any gaps. When tutoring students I regularly encourage them to respond to my feedback (or their teachers) so that they too are able to track their own progress and self correct. We can also complete school homework in my sessions. I am more than happy to provide families with suggestions on how they can support their children at home.

Learning is a holistic process that can be very positive when catered specifically for the individual child. Early education is the foundation of all learning and I want all students to be able to enjoy and succeed at this time so having fun with me is definitely on the cards too. I hope to hear from you and am happy to answer any questions about the tutoring process or content.
