About Isaac

I’m a Life Sciences student at McMaster University.

Background:

3.9 GPA, 98% in Grade 12 English
500+ hours working with children
Start2Finish literacy coach (one-on-one reading support)
High school peer tutor (reading and writing)
Fluent in Cantonese and English

What that means for your child:

- I understand how to break reading down step-by-step
- I’m patient and don’t rush students
- I focus on building confidence, not just finishing homework
- I adjust to each child’s level and pace

A lot of the students I’ve worked with weren’t struggling because they “couldn’t do it”. They just needed someone to slow things down and guide them properly. That’s what I try to provide in every session :)

About the lesson

I offer reading tutoring for kids in Grades 1–8.

In my sessions, I focus on:

building reading confidence (especially for kids who feel stuck or discouraged)
improving fluency and comprehension
helping students actually understand what they’re reading, not just get through it

I keep lessons patient and low-pressure so kids feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. I adjust everything based on your child’s level and learning style.

I also speak Cantonese, so I’m happy to support bilingual households if needed.

Isaac is very knowledgable and skilled in this sport as he is in Bayview's volleyball team every year and in a volleyball team outside of school as well. He is also incredibly patient, approachable, and dedicated to helping others grow.
