Hi, I'm Claire! I recently graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors. I have one year of tutoring experience and have really enjoyed helping students work through challenging concepts and gain confidence in their abilities. I'm patient, approachable, and always happy to explain things in different ways until they make sense. I understand that every student learns differently, and I hope to make each lesson a positive and encouraging experience!

My approach to tutoring is to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. I know that math and science can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I want to help students build confidence in their abilities while making learning a little more enjoyable!
I like to tailor each lesson to the student's individual needs and learning style. I usually start by checking in on what they're currently learning in school and identifying any concepts they're struggling with. From there, we'll work through explanations, examples, and practice problems together. I also encourage students to explain their thought processes so I can better understand where they might need extra support.
Rather than focusing on memorizing formulas or getting the right answer, I try to help students understand the reasoning behind what they're learning. I believe that building a strong foundation makes it much easier to approach new and more challenging topics with confidence.
I offer math and science tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school students, whether they need help keeping up with coursework, preparing for exams, or strengthening their understanding of a particular subject. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling a little more confident and capable than when they arrived!
