About Vivian
I am a recent graduate from UT Austin with a BSA in Biochemistry, a minor in Health Communications, a certificate in Children & Society, and a certificate in Pre-Health Professionals. I graduated summa cum laude in the top 1% of my class with a 4.0 GPA. I have experience with tutoring students from middle school to college level. I always prepare for my lessons well-ahead of time and pay particular attention to my student's needs! I like to begin my sessions by evaluating my student's current knowledge on the subject and their best method of learning. Based on my student's needs, I can go over problems, lecture on the subject, or present new questions for my student to expand their learning. At the end of the session, I make sure to review the lessons that were learned with my student to ensure proper understanding. I am a visual learner myself, so I enjoy using videos, drawings, and brain maps to explain complex topics.
I have tutoring experience across various grade levels, virtually and in-person, and mainly in math or science subjects. I worked as a science tutor at my university's tutoring center for 1.5 years, volunteered as a science tutor for college students for another year, and volunteered as a general math and science tutor for middle school and high school students for 1 year.
