About Jenin
Hi, I’m Jenin Mani. I’m a recent Virginia Commonwealth University graduate with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry, and I’m currently studying for the MCAT with plans to attend medical school.
I’ve always been someone who enjoys working with others and explaining things in a way that actually makes sense. I’m very outgoing, approachable, and bring a bit of humor into my teaching style, which helps make sessions feel comfortable and engaging rather than stressful.
A big reason I chose this path is because I had a teacher I truly connected with—someone who made the material click and motivated me to continue studying that subject more deeply. That experience shaped my academic focus, and it’s something I hope to be for my own students.
Outside of academics, I’ve always been very active—I grew up practicing and competing in taekwondo and now spend a lot of time cycling. I think that discipline and consistency carries over into how I approach both learning and teaching.
Overall, I take tutoring seriously but keep the experience positive, supportive, and tailored to each student.

My approach is simple: make things clear, build confidence, and adapt to each student’s needs. As a recent Virginia Commonwealth University biology graduate, I’m especially confident in biology and focus on breaking down complex ideas into something that actually makes sense. I personally learn best through real-world examples, so I bring that into my teaching whenever possible. For more memorization-heavy topics, I like to create fun, catchy tricks to help things stick.
A typical lesson starts with a quick check of what you know, then we go over the concept step-by-step, work through problems together, and finish with you trying it on your own. I also share helpful tips and shortcuts that have worked for me.
What sets me apart is that I don’t just help you get the answer—I make sure you understand why. I’m patient, easy to work with, and focused on helping you feel more confident in the material.
My lessons are for middle school and high school students who need help with biology or math—whether that’s improving grades, preparing for exams, or just getting a better grasp of the subject.
