About Jyoti

I am a New Zealand registered secondary teacher with over 11 years of secondary Mathematics teaching experience in India. I hold a Master of Science in Mathematics and have taught students across junior and senior secondary levels.
I am currently based in Auckland and gaining New Zealand classroom experience through my professional placement while completing the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary) at Te Rito Maioha.
I am passionate about Mathematics and enjoy helping students develop confidence in concepts they may initially find challenging. I am patient, approachable and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are encouraged to achieve their best.

About the lesson

I offer clear, supportive and student-centered Mathematics lessons tailored to each learner’s needs and level. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills and confidence in Mathematics.
Lessons can include Number, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and other areas of secondary Mathematics. I use step-by-step explanations, worked examples, questioning and practice activities to help students understand challenging concepts rather than simply memorizing procedures.
I can support students with regular classroom learning, homework, revision, assessment preparation and areas where they need additional confidence. Each lesson is adapted according to the student’s strengths, learning needs and goals.
My aim is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and can make steady progress in Mathematics.
