About Pooja
My name is Pooja, and I am a patient, supportive, and structured tutor dedicated to helping primary school students build strong academic foundations while also making learning enjoyable and engaging. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, curious, and interested, so I focus on creating a positive environment where learning feels fun rather than stressful.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual learning style and aim to make concepts simple, clear, and relatable. I incorporate interactive activities, visual aids, and real-life examples to help students understand topics more easily and stay engaged throughout the lesson. I also encourage active participation, so students can think independently and develop confidence in their abilities while enjoying the learning process.
I am currently a Master of Architecture student at UNSW Sydney, where I have developed strong communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills through design studios, presentations, and collaborative work. While I am beginning my formal tutoring journey, I have experience supporting peers academically by explaining concepts clearly and helping them prepare for assessments, which has strengthened my ability to teach in a patient and effective way.
My goal is to help primary school students (Years 1–6) improve in English, reading, writing, spelling, and basic mathematics, while also making learning fun, engaging, and confidence-building.

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning style. I aim to create a positive and comfortable learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, explore ideas, and make mistakes as part of the learning process, as I believe confidence is just as important as understanding the content itself. I break down complex topics into simple, step-by-step explanations and use relatable, everyday examples to make learning more practical and less intimidating. For younger students, I incorporate interactive methods such as visual aids, guided problem-solving, and practice questions to keep them engaged, while also encouraging active participation so they can develop independent thinking skills over time. A typical lesson is one hour long, which provides enough time to revise key concepts, work through examples, and complete practice activities while maintaining focus and engagement.
