About Carrie
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 18 years of teaching experience, having taught around 300 students from beginner to intermediate levels, including high school students, college learners, and adults.
My teaching philosophy is based on clear communication, patience, and steady improvement, as I believe these are important for successful learning. I focus on building strong basics such as posture, finger placement, bow control, and sound clarity.
I explain each concept in a simple and understandable way so students can apply it confidently. I also include exercises and songs that keep lessons interesting and engaging. One of my key achievements is helping students gain confidence and perform without hesitation.
My goal is to create a comfortable and motivating learning environment.

I follow a student-centered approach in teaching violin, emphasizing communication, flexibility, and practical application of skills. I carefully observe each student’s strengths, learning style, and goals to tailor lessons for effective understanding and enjoyment.
I focus on posture, bowing, fingering, tone production, intonation, phrasing, and expressive playing while nurturing creativity and interpretation. Real-life examples such as performing favorite songs, playing along with recordings, and preparing for recitals make lessons practical and engaging.
Alongside violin, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and basic piano skills to build a complete musical foundation. My goal is to foster confidence, skill, and a lifelong love for music in every student.
