About Niomi

Hello! I am a research professional with a background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, currently working at the intersection of experimental biology and computational analysis. With experience spanning academic research and industry, I understand how challenging technical subjects can feel and how powerful clear, step-by-step explanations are.
I specialise in helping students build real understanding rather than just memorising answers. Whether it’s GCSE or A-Level or IB or University syllabus, or developing confidence with problem-solving, my focus is on breaking down complex concepts into simple, intuitive ideas that actually make sense.
Having worked in fast-paced research environments, I also emphasise exam technique, logical thinking, and learning how to approach unfamiliar problems calmly and systematically. I aim to create a supportive, judgement-free space where no question is too small and curiosity is always encouraged.

About the lesson

When I was in school and University, I often found it hard to connect how certain concepts that were theoretically taught to me were researched practically. However, as I have matured as a scientist, I increasingly find this to be very important. Not only to understand the topic, but also help it stick in my mind. I am hoping to bring my practical skills into the sessions to help students understand concepts more holistically. Moreover, over the course of School (International Baccalaureate and GCSEs) and University, I have accrued several resources to help students learn biology and test themselves on their retention and knowledge, as well as resources to help with time management.

I expect each lesson to be at least 1 hour to help with continuity. I also advise my students to send me their curriculum as well as any resources given to them by their school or University, and their strengths and weaknesses so I can study this privately and customise sessions for them.
