About Nelson

I have been a teacher of Portuguese, Latin, Greek, Political Culture and Philosophy and tutor of international Master's and Doctorate subjects. I am also a historian of ancient Mediterranean cultures and I investigate social, intellectual and scientific human development, so that I know in an academic and transversal way several ancient cultures and languages and their relation to modernity. (I have shared lectures, published books and articles in international journals). - Students who seek reinforcement in some achieve very substantial improvements in their difficulties and regain interest in the disciplines. - Students seeking new knowledge and improvement in their professional activities, in addition to enjoying classes as an entertainment, manage to gain new socio-cultural skills and expand their understanding of the world around them.

About the lesson

My classes are aimed to high school students, university students, teachers, researchers and workers in social and human sciences.
- when the objective is to help the student improving his performance in a given subject, we adjust the contents to recover their difficulties and at the same time gain more interest in the subjects.
- we also create classes adjusted to the needs and taste of the student, when the objective is to improve technical skills or obtain political and cultural development. Ex: mechanical use of logic for mathematics and computer science, development of abstract creativity from literature, learn the use of rhetoric, learn philosophy for personal and professional development, philosophy applied to the natural sciences, ancient languages or cultures and Politic science.
- The materials are facilitated according to the needs of each student.
Areas of study that i can teach: History, cultures and languages (Latin and Greek) of Classical antiquity; History, cultures and languages (Sumerian and Acadian) of ancient Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt; History of Philosophy; Military history; Ideas of philosophy; Logic; Universal literature; Mythology and religion; history of science.
