About Joseph
My name is Joseph. (Joey) I’m 28 years old and I’ve been playing guitar for 16 years. I also dabble a little in basic bass guitar and drums. I have an extensive knowledge in composition and recording in logic pro X, along with mixing and mastering. Music has been my passion since the day I began playing. Music is not a competition, and it is for absolutely everyone! The freedom of expression and the way different music makes people feel is such an interesting concept to me and is one of the most amazing and important things about it. I hope to inspire and educate my students while helping them find the same happiness music brings to my life.

I believe music should be fun and exciting as this is crucial to continuous learning and a life long love for music and guitar. I like to structure lessons based upon what my student wants to learn and their interests and tastes of music. Ive been playing for 16 yrs. Lessons are typically 30 mins to an hour long. Upon leaving their first lesson each student will feel comfortable with their instrument and fully understand how to properly tune and set themselves up for practice and play. From there on, we build on basic knowledge of how notes work across the fretboard and strings, moving onto chords positions, making chord changes, breaking down these chords slowly to understand the relationship of all the notes in each scale as I believe this is the first key to having true freedom with your instrument. Learning songs the students love, properly executing techniques to perform these songs, and eventually taking all these skills and applying them to improvisation and creating their own original music.
