About Cheryl
I have a degree in elementary education and have been certified in ESL. I enjoy helping students improve their reading and writing. My experience as a classroom teacher was in grades 3-5. I was an ESL educator to adults for 5 summers and an ESL instructor for children in grades k through 7th. Recently I have been a part time title 1 tutor at a middle school.

I am very personable with my students. I like to know their interests, goals and passions. My style of teaching is like a coach. I encourage, demonstrate and promote activities for self learning and growing. Often I can see where weaknesses or gaps in learning are and help students strengthen those areas. I enjoy learning and am curious about many topics and like to pass that curiosity on to my students.

My rate is $35 an hour. If students book a series of 10 one hour lessons then the rate would be $30 an hour.
