About Karim
I'm Karim, a composer and musician based in London. I studied at the Bern University of the Arts and graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Masters in Composition for Screen.
Music has been my profession for over nine years. I compose for film and documentary, and I work as music editor on a BBC primetime drama series, Call the Midwife. I'm fluent in the full production chain, from a musical idea at the piano through to a finished, mixed cue in Cubase.
I teach because I enjoy passing on practical, real-world knowledge. Not theory for its own sake, but the skills that actually help you make and finish music.

I work as a film composer for feature documentaries, animations and award-winning short films, and as music editor on BBC's Call the Midwife. I teach what I actually use professionally: music production in Cubase, composition, harmony, and piano improvisation.
Lessons are tailored entirely to the student. No grades, no sheet music knowledge requested. Whether you want to write your own music, develop your ear, learn to produce, or explore improvisation, we build the session around your goal.
I work with adults and young adults only. Sessions are typically one hour, in person in London or online.
