About Яна

Hello! My name is Yana, and I have been teaching languages for over 8 years. I hold two degrees: a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Language Teaching and a Master’s degree in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication.

I have two years of experience teaching Russian as a foreign language at Collège et Lycée Lakanal in Paris, where I worked with students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This experience taught me how to explain Russian clearly and adapt lessons to different learning styles and needs.

I speak English and French at C1 level, which can be especially helpful for beginners who are not yet comfortable communicating in Russian. I also have a DALF C1 certificate in French.

I believe that learning a language should be both structured and enjoyable. I create a friendly, supportive environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes and gradually become more confident using Russian.

About the lesson

My lessons are focused on helping you use Russian in real-life situations, not just memorize grammar rules. From the very first lesson, we will practice speaking and gradually build your confidence in Russian.

I combine conversation practice with grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading. We will learn new language through topics that are relevant to your life, interests and goals, and immediately put new words and structures into practice. I will correct your mistakes and explain how to express yourself more naturally and accurately.

Depending on your level and goals, we can work on everyday communication, Russian for living and working in Russia, or more specific professional and academic needs. We can also use books, songs, films and other authentic materials to explore Russian language and culture.

Lessons are suitable for complete beginners as well as intermediate and advanced learners. If you are just starting Russian, I can also use English when necessary to make explanations clearer — I speak English at C1 level.

My goal is to create a friendly atmosphere where you can speak, make mistakes and learn from them without being afraid.
