About Sasha
My name is Sasha (they/them), and I’m a first year social work student at the University of Queensland. I was born in Japan and moved to Australia when I was 3.
I’ve spoken both Japanese and English my whole life, as well as studying Japanese in school, and in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which I graduated from in 2021 with the highest mark (7) in High Level Japanese B.
I love learning about anything and everything, but particularly history and space. I also love music, and play ukulele, guitar, and sing :D

I am happy to do whatever you need me to do! I’m open to different types of learning, and I can adapt my teaching to suit your needs.
I can help with practicing casual conversation, preparation for oral or listening assessments (including feedback on grammar, pronunciation, and general flow), or even if you'd just like to pick up a new language.
I will usually start with a quick chat about your day, in either language, and then you can tell me your goals for this lesson and we’ll work together to achieve them :)
If you'd like to have regular lessons, we can work out a learning plan that will help to achieve your long-term goals.
My first hour is free, so you can see if we work together with no risk. In person lessons will be held on the University of Queensland St.Lucia Campus

Perfect! Sasha has been really helpful in teaching me Japanese. I came in with some prior knowledge and they quickly identified my skill level and created their own worksheets, tailoring their lesson plan to my needs. If you need to cancel, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance, so that other students have the opportunity to use that time! Cancellation within 24 hours of the lesson will unfortunately result in a cancellation fee of 50% of my hourly rate ($17 in person, $15 online). Thank you!
