About Annabel

I am a qualified school teacher with 25 years experience teaching at the top independent schools in London. I taught painting and drawing as my speciality through my career ,working at Alleyns school in Dulwich for 20 years and Haberdashers Aske's School for Girls before that. I have a record of gaining A *grades for 90% of my students at both GCSE and A level. I have great knowledge of Art history and good experience of teaching the thesis/ writing element of the Art course. I am an examiner for Edexcel Art A level.

I am currently working as an artist and teaching adults painting and drawing at the West London Art School. I have a studio in Archway with all facilities a student needs. I can teach there but will travel to a reasonable distance. I am friendly and helpful and make Art fun as well as an excellent source for learning and expanding the mind.

Please note that I charge £10 for travelling to you.

Annabel has many years of professional experience working as a professor at Alleyns School in Dulwich and as an A level examiner for Edexcel.

More recently she taught oil painting and drawing at The West London Art School. Her years of experience of teaching Art and Design to a wide range of students has been enriched by her own professional practice. This has fed into and informed her lessons. I was Annabel's student at secondary school for GCSE and A level Art and Design. Thanks to her clear, insightful, and sensitive teaching I was able to achieve top A* grades at both levels. I received a thorough and lasting grounding in a wide range of fine art techniques and processes, as well as developing greater confidence in my own artistic instincts and abilities.

Annabel is a a specialist in teaching drawing and painting; at pre-foundation level I continued to learn from her as a private student, where her approach was equally professional and tailored to my specific needs.

Highly recommended, at any level.
