About Robert
I love helping people understand, especially those who don't think they can! I have taught college courses and labs in Chemistry and Environmental Studies at Carleton and Macalester Colleges, and am the co-author on a major college chemistry lab manual (Chemical Principles in the Laboratory). I have a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. from Caltech in Applied Photoelectrochemistry. I know my stuff!

My specialty is helping people get un-stuck, by figuring out where their thought process is going off track and, as much as possible, helping them find and correct that on their own, with a just a judicious nudge or apt question. My preferred approach is to look at work and troubleshoot from there, rather than lecture or talk in generalities.
