• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I mainly teach English, Math, Nutrition (Dietetics), Economics, Marketing, and Management. I’ve always loved understanding how different subjects connect to real life — whether it’s the logic of Math, the creativity of Literature, or the science of Nutrition. Over the years, I realized that teaching gives me a unique chance to simplify these concepts and make them enjoyable for students. I particularly love teaching Nutrition and English Literature because they allow me to blend science and creativity — helping students not only learn but think critically and apply knowledge in daily life.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation to teach comes from the satisfaction of seeing a student’s “aha” moment — when a difficult concept suddenly clicks. I was inspired by some of my own teachers who made learning fun and meaningful. They taught me that education is not about memorizing, but about understanding and curiosity. I try to bring that same energy into every class I teach.

• How does your work help society?

  Education is one of the most powerful tools for change. By helping students strengthen their academic skills and confidence, I contribute to shaping thoughtful, capable, and independent individuals. In Nutrition especially, I see the impact directly — students learn to make healthier food choices, which improves not just their grades but their lifestyle and well-being.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  I look up to educators like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, whose humility, curiosity, and commitment to teaching continue to inspire me. He believed in empowering young minds, and that belief perfectly reflects my own philosophy as a teacher — to encourage students to ask questions, think deeply, and grow beyond textbooks.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, creative writing, exploring nutrition science, and spending time outdoors. I also love working on small research-based projects related to health and wellness, and occasionally write educational content to make learning accessible to more people.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of my favorite moments as a teacher was when a student who had struggled with English for years finally wrote her first essay confidently — and told me, “Now I actually like reading!” That moment reminded me why I love what I do. Whether it’s improving a grade, building confidence, or helping someone rediscover learning, every student’s progress feels like a shared achievement.
