Objective of the lesson: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
1. Define agriculture
2. Explain major terms in the definition
Agriculture is art and science of cultivation of crops and rearing of animals for human benefit.
Agriculture as an art:Agriculture is an art because it involves the use of many traditional methods specific to different communities in cultivation of crops and rearing of animals as conditioned by beliefs or customs. For instance some communities may prefer the use of ridges to heaps for their crop production or use of chicken droppings as manure as opposed to pig droppings
Agriculture as a science: Agriculture is a science as there a many researches that has brought about better production on the sector for example availability of improved seeds, hybrid animals,pesticides etc.
