About Toyibat
A fun and energetic secondary school maths teacher who has a passion for seeing young students thrive in this core subject. I believe students should be able to gain the self-satisfaction and genuine thrill of putting together mathematical models in response to problems that are real to them. Maths is the start of creating minds that become curious beyond school. Being the person that is able to increase the confidence of pupils to the point where they become successful mathematicians is at the forefront of my career.
As a student I have always thoroughly enjoyed mathematics and being able to teach maths gives me an unparalleled opportunity to fulfill this desire but also allow me to share and witness the successes that students will be bound to achieve when they become individuals that end up using maths in their daily lives.

When delivering lessons I focus on making the content as engaging and easy to understand as possible. A typical lesson will last one hour and will consist of a starter, main body and an exit ticket to consolidate the day's learning. I believe learning should be enjoyable so I like to incorporate helpful games and quizes at the end of each topic to revisit what we have learnt in a fun and exciting way.
As a teacher who teaches classes of different abilities I understand the importance of scaffolding and emphasise this within my lessons. When learning something knew we will focus heavily on the right way to do it, following useful steps which will be easier to retain and useful in tests and exams.
My ideal audience will be anyone from year 1 up until GCSE level maths as I have experience of both primary and secondary education.
