About William

I am an experienced secondary school teacher with QTS (over a decade) and tutor with students in underprivileged and private school environments. I have been a Head of Department/Mentor/Coach in professional environments including elite rugby (NZ & London Scottish), in Architecture (2012 Olympics) and the commercial property industry in London and acting for several years. I thrive in helping students achieve their goals, to this end, my broad experience has proved to be invaluable. Outside of teaching I compete in Highland Games and I still act and do stunt work for Film and TV in projects with Idris Elba, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hardy, John Cena, Guy Ritchie, Cate Blachett and most recently in Highlander.

About the lesson

I specialise in Bespoke Adaptive Teaching to support students’ aspirations of all abilities and backgrounds. I meet their specific needs by providing a plan to fit their timescales (even last minute) to help them to achieve the outcomes they are capable of. All subject content is provided, along with personalised discussions, testing, developmental feedback, exam techniques, home learning and support along with lesson reports to help them to reach their goals. Lessons are typically delivered over 2-3 hours but I work around what is best to support my students. Subject Experience (Students Aged 11-19): Functional Skills - Maths and English. GCSE - Science, Maths, English, Art, Design Technology, Physical Education, History. A Level - Science, Art, Design & Technology, Physical Education. University applications - both American and British systems (specifically Art, Design, Architecture and Engineering) Sports Coach - Rugby, Athletics, Strength and Conditioning. Experienced with neurodivergent students including for Dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, ESL.

Will started tutoring our son at home a few weeks ago. Our son wouldn't engage with any help offered to him and refuses to go to school.
Will was exceptionally understanding and supportive and didn't give up on our son!
Will persevered and was very consistent with his attempts to tutoring our son . He used different approaches to build a rapport with him to enable a breakthrough with communication and being able to teach.
Our son was very challenging but Will never gave up. Will would contact us on a daily basis to see if our son would engage. Will never let us down and would always be consistent and reliable.
I would highly recommend Will. He's great with students, understanding and meeting their needs to his best ability.
Will always presents himself well and is very friendly. Will is approachable and always listens to us and our son.
