About Janelle
I am a third year secondary educator who is passionate for advancing academic progress and encouraging intellectual and social development within the school’s climate:
Middle School E.L.A, Writing Lab, & Intervention Duties -
Uses data to assess and monitor the progress of 150+ students throughout the school year and works closely with staff to efficiently plan and coordinate work.
• Facilitates cooperative learning activities that develop a collaborative classroom culture.
• Integrates technology into the curriculum to promote student engagement and enhance learning opportunities according to the Danielson model.
• Differentiates instruction to maximize learning opportunities at varying cognitive levels.
• Effectively communicates with families regarding instructional programs and individual student progress.
• Earned proficient and accomplished scores in all Danielson Framework standards.

During an average school day, a teacher wears many hats; Not only are we educators, but also motivators, therapists, negotiators, and mentors for our students. The balancing act requires certain qualities: compassion, leadership, flexibility, and content knowledge. An outstanding teacher will use these skills to effectively communicate and tackle any situation with control and confidence.
A teacher’s classroom expectations, either high or low, become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Beginning at the door, an outstanding teacher will establish an atmosphere of respect - creating a safe space for learners. Together, the class will establish clear, student made expectations that will hold students accountable for their academic success and behavior management.
Most importantly, an outstanding teacher understands that no teacher, nor lesson is perfect. Highly effective educators will analyze assessment data and reflect on student feedback to identify and make improvements that will foster the needs of all learners.
