About Vish

Hi, I’m Vish and I am passionate about supporting children to discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to thrive.

My journey in child development has grown through my experiences as a Psychology graduate, Learning Support Assistant in both SEN and mainstream schools, and currently as a Therapy Assistant within NHS community services. These roles have taught me that every child learns differently, and the most meaningful progress happens when learning is personalised, engaging, and built around a child’s unique strengths, interests, and sensory needs.

I specialise in providing supportive, child-centred sessions for children with additional learning needs, including autism and developmental differences. Through structured play, creative activities, and positive encouragement, I help children develop communication, independence, confidence, attention, social skills, and a love for learning.

I believe every child has their own way of understanding and interacting with the world. My role is to create a safe, encouraging space where they feel valued, understood, and motivated to explore new skills at their own pace.

I look forward to working alongside families to celebrate each child’s progress and support them in becoming more confident and independent learners.

About the lesson

We begin with an initial online consultation to understand your child’s individual profile, interests, strengths, and the areas you would like to support. We will also discuss practical arrangements such as session length, location, and availability.

Sessions are child-led and centred around what your child enjoys. I follow their interests and use these as opportunities to develop communication, confidence, independence, and learning skills in a natural and meaningful way. Through play, exploration, and shared activities, we create opportunities for your child to engage, express themselves, and build new skills at their own pace.

Depending on your child’s needs and goals, sessions may include supporting communication and interaction, such as expressing needs, building vocabulary, and developing social connections. We can work on attention, listening, and engagement through activities that encourage focus and shared participation. Sessions may also support independence and everyday life skills, including following routines, organising belongings, preparing simple food, cooking activities, tidying, and making choices.

Other areas we can explore include developing play and social skills, emotional awareness and regulation, sensory needs, coordination and fine motor skills such as handwriting, drawing, and cutting, as well as confidence with learning and school readiness.

The aim is to create a positive, trusting relationship where your child feels understood and supported while developing skills that are meaningful to them.

Perfect! Vish is simply marvellous! She is so patient and willing to engage at the level our child can manage. Our son is autistic (Asperger’s/PDA) so her ability to almost fade away in the background, lower demand, reduce cognitive load, to facilitate a safe nurturing space is truly a much valued asset she very clearly possesses. Our son is truly very fond of her and we look forward to building blocks!
