About Matteo
I am an international student pursuing an undergraduate degree at SFU. My journey with academics has always been about resilience and organized work while under pressure.
More about me?
Beyond my academics, I am also a high-level swimmer. I have been competing for over 14 years and sports taught me that success is defined by 20% strategy and 80% mindset. I help students build their mental muscle necessary to stay calm and focused during exams and high-stress periods.

I take my role as a mentor seriously. I am organized, punctual, and dedicated to creating a structured environment where students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes. My goal is to be the reliable partner you need to navigate the challenges of the high school curriculum, ensuring we achieve consistent, measurable results together.

My methodology is built on the belief that math anxiety is often a hurdle of confidence, not just logic. I ensure my students don't simply memorize formulas, but instead understand the underlying why behind them, all while acting as a supportive mentorship partner.
A typical lesson follows this structured flow:
- Check-in: Discussing current schoolwork stress and identifying pain points.
- Quick Warm-up: Reviewing the core concepts needed for the day’s topic.
- Collaborative Solving: Working through homework and new concepts together.
- Independent Work: The student tackles individual problems to prove their mastery.
- Wrap-up: Summarizing the big ideas and previewing what’s next.
What sets me apart?
What distinguishes me is my focus on mentorship and human interaction. I help my students perform at their best while navigating the high pressure of the BC curriculum. Beyond the numbers, I incorporate confidence and pressure-handling techniques that I mastered during my career as a high-level athlete. I teach my students how to stay calm during exams and treat challenges as opportunities for growth.
