About Katie
I have over 15 years of experience in teaching math to students of all levels. I created and implemented a Singapore Math program in an elementary school and continue to coach teachers in the best teaching methods. I also created an innovative method for teaching pre-primary level students to prepare them for a Singapore Math curriculum. I'm super passionate about math education and believe that anyone can become a math genius!

I'm a specialist in Singapore Math, with a teaching style centered around helping students understand the why behind every concept—not just the how. My approach is highly visual and conceptual, using tools like bar models, number bonds, and real-world analogies to deepen understanding and build lasting confidence in math.
Each lesson begins with a complex, thought-provoking problem designed to challenge students and spark discussion. Rather than teaching step-by-step procedures, I guide students to analyze, reason, and discover solutions independently, helping them become true mathematical thinkers.
I work with:
Students currently enrolled in Singapore Math programs who need support with schoolwork or enrichment
Curious learners who want to explore a different, more logical and visual way of thinking about math
Elementary and middle school students seeking stronger foundations in problem solving and number sense
